The Salleo group primarily focuses on furthering a fundamental understanding of charge transport in organic semiconducting materials. However, our group’s research spans from elucidating fundamental structure-property relations in mixed ionic-electronic organic materials to developing novel biosensors. Extrapolating from fundamental principles, our group contributes to research in electrocatalysis, biosensing, and neuromorphic computation.
What makes organic semiconductors interesting?
They are dynamically tunable (with a voltage), soft, bio-integratable, electrochemically active, and synthetically modifiable. They have many useful properties, but there is still a lot to be understood about them!
